Terms of Service

1. What Xuan Lab is

Xuan Lab translates the Chinese almanac (通勝) and traditional astrology systems — including BaZi (八字), Zi Wei Dou Shu (紫微斗數), numerology, Western astrology and feng shui — into plain English across four languages, personalised for you and the family members you add. Most calculations are performed on your own device. Some readings, such as 命書 (The Master’s Reading), use AI to compose a narrative from the facts our engines compute.

2. For entertainment and self-reflection only

Xuan Lab is provided for cultural interest, entertainment and personal reflection. Its content is based on traditional belief systems and AI-assisted interpretation. It is not professional financial, investment, legal, medical, psychological or relationship advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. We do not promise or guarantee any particular outcome, event or result. You are solely responsible for the decisions you make, and you should always use your own judgement and seek qualified professional advice where appropriate.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old, or use the Service under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Birth details you enter for yourself or family members should be information you are entitled to use.

4. Purchases, pricing and billing

The core Service — including your own daily almanac and personal report — is free. Paid offerings are all digital and delivered within the Service:

• One-time reading credit packs for 命書 (The Master’s Reading).
• A one-time family unlock to add people to compatibility reports.
• Annual team plans for businesses.

Prices are shown before you pay and are stated in US Dollars (USD). Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card details. One-time purchases grant access to digital content as described at checkout. Annual team plans renew automatically each year unless cancelled before the renewal date; you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service — including attempting to disrupt it, access it by unauthorised means, resell it, scrape it, or use it for any unlawful purpose or to harm others. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, text, software and brand (including the 玄 seal) are owned by Xuan Lab and protected by law. Readings generated for you are for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, redistribute or build a competing product from the Service without our permission.

7. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand what we collect and how we use it. Notably, birth time is stored to compute charts but is never displayed anywhere in the Service.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the content is accurate, complete or fit for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Xuan Lab will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for decisions made in reliance on the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the Service. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law and contact
